3About Cunningsburgh
Cunningsburgh lies 15 kilometres south of Lerwick on the A970, Shetland's main arterial route. Most visitors arrive via the Aberdeen ferry to Lerwick, then take the scenic drive through rolling moorland and scattered crofts. The village sits inland from the dramatic Atlantic coastline, sheltered from the worst of Shetland's weather. It's home to a remarkably well-preserved Iron Age broch, one of the finest examples of these ancient stone towers in the islands.
