Comanche Creek is a tiny rural community in Arapahoe County, about 35 miles southeast of Denver via I-76 and county roads. The area sits in high plains ranch country where the South Platte River flows toward the mountains. Most visitors arrive from Denver or Colorado Springs using Highway 85 and local county roads. The settlement was named after Comanche Creek, a South Platte tributary that once watered Native American camps.
