Chawton

Chawton lies four kilometres southwest of Alton on the A31, easily reached via the M3 and A331 from London in about an hour. The village sits in gentle Hampshire countryside with good EV charging coverage nearby. Jane Austen lived here from 1809 to 1817, writing some of her most celebrated novels at a small table in her cottage, which remains preserved as a museum on the village's main street.
