Castlejordan

Castlejordan sits in County Westmeath's farming country, about 15 kilometres northeast of Mullingar. Most folk arrive via the R394, with Dublin drivers taking the M4 to Mullingar then heading north through Rathcore - it's roughly 80 kilometres from the capital. From Athlone, it's a 25-kilometre run northeast through Moate. The village gets its name from a medieval castle, though only earthwork traces remain in the surrounding fields where dairy farming now dominates the local economy.
