Caersws lies in mid-Wales along the River Severn, where the A470 trunk road meets routes heading west to the coast and southeast to Newtown. This former Roman settlement sits in the Severn Valley with the Cambrian Mountains rising around it, offering good road connections despite its rural location. The town has about 13 EV charging points for electric vehicles. You can still spot the earthwork remains of the original Roman fort Mediolanum in fields just north of today's village centre.
