Brinsley lies between Nottingham and Derby in Nottinghamshire's former coalfield. Take the A608 from either city or Junction 27 off the M1. The village serves as a useful cut-through for local traffic between the A610 and A38 corridors. The old colliery headstock remains a striking landmark visible from the main road.
