Bokoshe, OK

Bokoshe is a small Oklahoma town of 388 people in Le Flore County, positioned along Highway 9 between McAlester (45 miles west) and Fort Smith, Arkansas (35 miles east). Most visitors arrive via Interstate 40, exiting at Sallisaw and following Highway 9 west for about 20 miles through rolling hills near the Arkansas border. The town's name comes from a Choctaw word meaning "creek," referencing the waterway that still flows through the community.
