About Bennettsbridge

Bennettsbridge straddles the River Nore just 10 kilometres south of Kilkenny city, where the R700 crosses the water between Kilkenny and Thomastown. Most visitors come off the M9 at Kilkenny and follow the R700 south through gentle farmland, about 90 minutes from Dublin or two hours from Cork via the M8. The village takes its name from the 1760s stone bridge still carrying traffic today, and it's famous for Nicholas Mosse Pottery, where you can watch traditional spongeware being made by hand in the old mill by the river.
