Barrhead is a former mill town in East Renfrewshire, twenty minutes southwest of Glasgow via the M77. The A726 runs through the center, connecting to Neilston and Newton Mearns, whilst the M77 provides quick access to Glasgow Airport and links to the M8 for Edinburgh. Over 300 EV charging points serve the area. The red sandstone Arthurlie House on Main Street now houses the town library.
