Ballinspittle is a small Cork village about 20 kilometers southwest of Cork city, positioned perfectly between Kinsale and Clonakilty on the Wild Atlantic Way. Take the R600 south through Kinsale, then the R604 west, about 30 minutes from Cork through lovely countryside that shifts from farmland to coastal views. The village became famous worldwide in 1985 when locals reported seeing the statue of the Virgin Mary move at the local grotto, drawing thousands of pilgrims and curious visitors to witness the phenomenon.
