Ahascragh sits where several regional roads meet in County Galway, making it a handy stopping point between Galway city and the Shannon region. The N63 runs straight through from Galway (35km via Mountbellew), while the R358 connects from Roscommon and Athlone across the River Suck. From Dublin, take the M6 to Ballinasloe then pick up local roads. The town's claim to fame is its turf cutting museum, housed in the old courthouse, which tells the story of Ireland's bog heritage.
