Achluachrach is a small Highland settlement on the A86 between Spean Bridge and Roybridge in Glen Spean. The village sits along the main route connecting the Great Glen with Speyside, making it a waypoint for travelers heading east from Fort William or west from the A9. The name derives from Gaelic meaning "field of rushes," aptly describing the marshy terrain along the River Spean's floodplain.
