Idstone is a small Wiltshire village just east of Swindon, reached via the A419 and local roads from the town centre. The M4 provides longer-distance access, whilst the A420 connects to Oxford and the Cotswolds. The village sits on gentle downland near the ancient Ridgeway National Trail, which follows the chalk ridge just to the south.
