England
High Barnet perches on the northern heights of Greater London, offering cooler temperatures and clearer air than the city center below. The A1000 provides the main route up from Finchley, whilst the A411 connects from Watford direction. Most visitors arrive via Junction 23 of the M25, then follow the A1(M) briefly before turning onto local roads. The area's elevated position creates a distinct microclimate, with frosty winter mornings and pleasantly cool summer evenings. High Barnet station claims the distinction of being the highest point on the entire London Underground network.
