Hewelsfield is a small Forest of Dean village near the Welsh border, accessed via the A48 through Woolaston or scenic lanes from Chepstow. The elevated position offers views across the Wye Valley to Wales. With around 50 EV charging points in the wider area and good connections to the M48 and A40, it serves as a quiet base for exploring the border country. St. Mary Magdalene church houses a rare medieval rood screen with original painted figures.
