Hatherleigh lies in mid-Devon, 20 miles southwest of Okehampton on the A386. This market town sits above the River Lew valley amid rolling countryside. The A386 connects north to Bideford and south to Tavistock, whilst the A3072 links westward to Holsworthy. From Exeter, take the A30 to Okehampton then the A386 south. The weekly market has run every Tuesday since 1238 in the original cobbled square.
