Harker Heights is a residential city in central Texas, about 60 miles north of Austin near Fort Hood. Take I-35 north from Austin or south from Dallas-Fort Worth, then connect via US 190 or SH 195. The city sits on rolling hills around Stillhouse Hollow Lake, a 6,430-acre Army Corps reservoir with public boat ramps and swimming beaches.
