Grumbeg lies deep in Sutherland's remote interior, accessible via the A836 that connects Lairg to Tongue. Most visitors arrive from Inverness (120km south) or use it as a base for exploring nearby settlements like Altnaharra. The area offers excellent trout fishing on Loch Naver, with waters virtually unchanged for centuries.
