Greens lies about 20 kilometres northwest of Aberdeen in rural Aberdeenshire. Access is via the A96 toward Inverurie, then local roads through the Garioch valley, or alternatively the A947 from Oldmeldrum. The area has roughly 10 fast charging points for electric vehicles. The settlement's name derives from a medieval landowning family whose property records survive in Aberdeen's archives.
