Greenholm lies in East Ayrshire's Irvine Valley, easily reached via the A71 from Glasgow or the A76 from the south. The village sits among gentle hills between Newmilns and Darvel, with good road links to Kilmarnock and Galston. Glasgow Prestwick Airport is 25 kilometers west. The area retains 19th-century buildings from its lace-making heritage.
