Great Altcar

Great Altcar is a small farming village in West Lancashire, about 20 miles north of Liverpool via the A565 through Formby. Most visitors arrive from Junction 7 of the M57, then take the A5036 and A565 northward. The village sits on rich agricultural land typical of this coastal plain, with working farms still operating traditional crop rotations on the fertile alluvial soils.
