Grayson Green lies in west Cumbria between the coast and Lake District fells, reached via the A595 coastal route or A596 from Carlisle. Local traffic uses the B5295 to nearby Distington and Harrington, whilst longer journeys connect through the A66 to the M6. The town's Victorian clock tower chimes every quarter-hour from its 1887 bronze bell.
