Gene Autry is a tiny Oklahoma town of 224 people along US Highway 77, about 15 miles south of Ardmore. Most visitors pass through on US 77 traveling between Oklahoma City and North Texas, or stop while heading to Ardmore Municipal Airport 12 miles away. The community proudly displays a historical marker honoring its namesake, the famous singing cowboy Gene Autry.
