Genadendal

Genadendal, in the Overberg, is about two and a half hours from Cape Town via the N2 to Caledon, then the R406. Locals nip through often to Greyton, just 6 km away, while long-haul visitors sometimes roll in from as far as Upington or St Helena Bay. EV charging is scarce here, so juice up in Caledon first. Founded by Moravian missionaries in 1738, it's home to South Africa's oldest mission station and first teacher training college, plus a water mill still grinding grain the old-fashioned way.
