Frenchpark

Ireland

Ireland

Frenchpark is a handy stop along the N5 between Dublin and Westport, about two hours west of the capital via the M4 and Longford. The town connects south to Athlone on the N61 and links to Strokestown and Boyle through local roads that wind across Roscommon's gentle drumlin countryside. There's decent EV charging infrastructure for the growing number of electric cars using this cross-country route. The town gets its name from a French family who settled here in the 1600s, and you can still see the original stone walls of their estate along the main street, standing strong after three centuries.
