Forsinard

Forsinard lies deep in Sutherland's Flow Country, surrounded by Europe's largest blanket bog system. The A897 provides the main access, with most visitors arriving on long routes from Helmsdale or Thurso. The Far North railway also stops here, offering an alternative to driving. The RSPB visitor centre features a remarkable 700-metre floating boardwalk extending into the ancient peat bog.
