Fintown (Baile na Finne)

Fintown sits along the R252 in County Donegal's interior, where the Finn River meanders through typical northwest countryside of farms, stone walls, and peat bogs. It's about 30 kilometers southwest of Letterkenny via the R252, which continues south through Ballybofey and connects to the N15 for Dublin. The town serves as a handy base for exploring nearby Glenveagh National Park and makes a good stopping point when touring Donegal's inland areas. The highlight here is Ireland's narrow-gauge railway that runs vintage carriages along Lough Finn's shores, one of the few tourist railways still operating in the country.
