Far Oakridge perches on the Cotswold slopes in Gloucestershire's Golden Valley, reached via the A419 from Cirencester then local roads through Chalford. Most visitors approach from the M4 Junction 15, whilst Stroud residents use the A46 for a quick 15-minute journey. The village sits at about 200 metres elevation amongst wooded valleys typical of this AONB. One of the area's last working Cotswold stone quarries still operates here using traditional extraction methods.
