Factoria

Factoria lies in the Free State goldfields, just down the road from Virginia and a quick hop from Welkom via the R730, handy if you're popping through for shopping or work. Most locals use it for short trips between the mining towns, but you'll also spot travellers passing through en route to Parys or further, since Welkom Airport is only 38 km away. Keep an eye out for the old mine headgear still standing over the maize fields, proper goldfields scenery.
