Emmetsburg, IA

Emmetsburg is a small farming town in north-central Iowa that serves as the Palo Alto County seat. Highway 18 runs east-west through town, connecting to Spencer and Algona, while Highway 4 provides the north-south route. Most long-distance travelers use I-80 (45 miles south) or I-90 (60 miles north) for major trips. The town features Iowa Lakes Community College and Five Island Lake, a 950-acre reservoir created by damming the Des Moines River.
