Elsted Marsh occupies a quiet corner of West Sussex between the South Downs and Hampshire border, accessed via the A272 between Midhurst and Petersfield. The settlement sits among traditional farming country with ancient woodland, where mild maritime conditions support local agriculture. The area retains one of West Sussex's few working watercress beds, fed by clear chalk streams.
