Elsdon

Elsdon is a tiny Northumberland village on the A696, about 50km north of Newcastle. It's surrounded by sheep farming country and serves as a handy stop for those driving between Newcastle and the Scottish Borders. The village sits in classic Border country terrain of rolling hills and stone walls. The village green features the ruins of a medieval pele tower, built centuries ago to defend against cross-border raiders.
