Ellastone

Ellastone is a small Staffordshire village near the Derbyshire border, reached via the A52 and local roads from Ashbourne. George Eliot used it as the model for Hayslope in "Adam Bede," and St. Peter's Church retains its distinctive Norman doorway from her era.
