Elkton is a small farming town in eastern South Dakota, about 15 miles northeast of Brookings along Highway 14. The main routes include Highway 14 east-west to Brookings and Minnesota, and Highway 30 north-south connecting to Interstate 29. Most visitors come via the I-29 corridor from Sioux Falls or other regional cities. The classic grain elevator by the railroad tracks dominates the town's skyline.
