East Stour

East Stour lies in north Dorset's chalk downs where the River Stour meanders through the Blackmore Vale. Reach it via the A30 to the south, then local roads through West Stour, or take the B3092 from Mere. Most visitors come from nearby Gillingham or Shaftesbury, both under ten miles away. The village's 13th-century Church of All Saints houses a remarkably preserved medieval stone screen.
