Eagleton lies on Lewis's eastern shore among several small Hebridean communities, reached via the A859 from Stornoway and its airport. Most visitors arrive by CalMac ferry from Ullapool, with local roads connecting to Bayble, Garrabost and other nearby settlements. The area features traditional blackhouse cottages with their characteristic thick stone walls and thatched roofs, built to withstand Atlantic weather.
