Dunstable straddles the A5 Watling Street in Bedfordshire, with Junction 11A of the M1 just three miles east providing excellent motorway access. The town sits on the Chiltern Hills between London (35 miles) and the Midlands, making it a natural stopping point for long-distance traffic. London Luton Airport lies 10 miles northeast. The Dunstable Downs host one of the world's oldest gliding clubs, established in 1931.
