Dungloe (an Clochán Liath)

Dungloe sits at the heart of the Rosses, a Gaeltacht town where you'll still hear plenty of Irish spoken on the streets. The R259 runs right through it, connecting north to Gweedore and south to Glenties, while Donegal Airport is just 15 kilometers up the road. It's about 280 kilometers from Dublin via the N4 and N56, or a handy 60 kilometers from Letterkenny. The town comes alive each summer for the Mary from Dungloe Festival, a massive week-long celebration that draws crowds from all over the world to crown their international winner.
