Dungarvan sits where the Colligan River meets the sea at the head of Dungarvan Bay, with the Comeragh Mountains providing a dramatic backdrop. The N25 connects Cork (75 minutes west) with Waterford (45 minutes east), making it easily accessible from major cities. The town has become a proper food destination, hosting the annual West Waterford Festival of Food and maintaining lively farmers' markets. The 46-kilometer Waterford Greenway, a converted railway line to Waterford city, draws cyclists and walkers from across Ireland.
