Duncormick sits 20 kilometers southeast of Wexford town along the R736, perfectly positioned on Ireland's Ancient East route for exploring the Hook Peninsula. Most visitors come via the N25 from Wexford or New Ross, then take local roads through rolling farmland to reach this small village. The R733 connects from Fethard-on-Sea while the R734 heads east toward Hook Head Lighthouse, making it handy for day trips across south Wexford. The name comes from "Dún Chormaic" or Cormac's fort, though locals still argue whether the original Cormac was a medieval chieftain or an early Christian monk.
