Drongan is a former mining village in East Ayrshire, about 15km northeast of Ayr via the A70. The M77 from Glasgow connects to the A70 near Fenwick for the most direct route south. Popular with visitors exploring Ayrshire's countryside, it offers easy access to both coast and hills, with Glasgow Prestwick Airport nearby for air connections. The village's former colliery was once one of the area's largest employers.
