Drimnagh sits 6 kilometres southwest of Dublin city centre, caught between the Grand Canal and the Dublin Mountains. The R110 runs straight through, connecting to the M50 within minutes for longer trips, while locals often take the R137 through Inchicore to reach town or the N81 heading south to Wicklow. Most daily drives are short hops to Walkinstown or Ballyfermot, though visitors arriving via the M50 typically use Junction 9 or 10. The area's claim to fame is Drimnagh Castle, a 13th-century fortress with Ireland's only surviving flooded moat still fed by natural springs.
