Doohoma

Doohoma sits at the far end of the Mullet Peninsula in Mayo, where the Atlantic hits with full force across flat bogland and dramatic cliffs. It's a proper journey to get there, taking the N59 from Westport or Castlebar, then the R313 through Belmullet for the final 15 kilometers. From Dublin it's a solid four-hour drive via the M6 and N5. The peninsula hosts one of Ireland's most important seabird colonies, with thousands of fulmars and guillemots nesting on the cliffs each summer.
