Dooega (Dumha Éige)

Dooega sits on Achill Island's western edge, reached by crossing the bridge at Achill Sound and following the R319. It's about four hours from Dublin via Westport and roughly the same from Cork through the midlands. The village looks out over the Atlantic beneath Slievemore mountain, where you'll spot the ruins of 19th-century stone cottages scattered across the slopes, remnants from before the Famine cleared the area. There are a few fast chargers around Achill, but best to charge up before crossing onto the island.
