The village serves as a natural stopping point between Aberdeen and Braemar, with roughly 6 EV charging points for Highland touring. Most visitors come via the scenic A93 from Aberdeen, whilst locals from Aboyne and Ballater pop over for services. The village sits beside Loch Kinord, where 2,500-year-old crannog settlements still rise from the water on artificial islands.
