Dalbeattie is a granite town in Dumfries and Galloway, reached via the A711 from Dumfries or A745 from Castle Douglas. Popular routes include the coastal drive to Kippford and connections to the A75 for longer journeys. The town's quarry famously provided stone for Liverpool's docks and the Statue of Liberty's base.
