Crossbrae lies in Aberdeenshire's farming country, seven kilometres from Turriff via the A947 and local roads. The A947 from Aberdeen or B9105 from the coast provide the main access routes, with about ten EV charging points around Turriff. The area's claim to fame is nearby Tarlair Swimming Pool, an extraordinary 1930s Art Deco lido carved straight into the coastal cliffs.
