Cranford is a small Devon village between Bideford and Barnstaple, reached via the A39 Atlantic Highway. The settlement sits on elevated ground above the Torridge Valley, surrounded by typical Devon countryside of rolling hills and narrow lanes. Most visitors arrive from Bideford (8km) or Barnstaple (15km), with longer journeys using the A361 to connect with the M5. The village retains several 16th-century longhouses built from local red sandstone.
