Courtmacsherry is a tidy coastal village where the river meets the Atlantic, about 50 kilometres southwest of Cork city. You'll reach it via the N71 coast road or the R601 from Bandon, with Clonakilty 15 kilometres west and Kinsale 25 kilometres east. The village sits handy to West Cork attractions like Old Head Golf and the Model Railway Village. The harbour's stone pier from the 1800s still shelters the fishing boats and houses one of Ireland's oldest lifeboat stations, making it a proper working port rather than just another pretty coastal stop.
