Copperton is a small Salt Lake County community of about 1,000 people, located southwest of Salt Lake City near the Oquirrh Mountains. Take I-15 to Exit 298, then head west on 12600 South to reach this former copper mining town. The area sits at 4,300 feet elevation with access via State Route 111 and offers views of the massive Bingham Canyon Mine.
